Shark II Pump FAQ
Can the Shark II Pump inflate my kayak/paddleboard/inflatable boat or other inflatable product?
The Shark Pump comes with a Pinch valve, Boston valve, C7 valve, 805 valve and H3 valve. So as long as your inflatable product has the suitable valve connectors and doesn't need to be inflated over 20 PSI then the Shark II pump should be able to inflate them.
The Shark II Air Pump I received looks like Shark I Air Pump, did I get the wrong one?
The Shark II Pump does not say 'Shark II' on the box. However we guarantee the product you received is the correct Shark II Pump. We have never carried the Shark I Pump and it is no longer in production. The most significant update of the second-generation Air Pump is the Internal Heat Dissipation System. The system enables the Pump to work longer without overheating. It also has a new fan inside the pump.
The Pump cannot inflate my board to a specific PSI, what should I do?
There are a few solutions to this issue.
1. The Pump cannot inflate an already half-inflated board. If this is the case, use the deflation function of the pump first, and then inflate the board again.
2. Please check if the paddle board leaks. If the pump cannot detect an increase in the pressure, it will stop inflating.
3. Please try with a thicker rubber gasket, or add multiple rubber gaskets onto the hose.
4. Please check if the pump is working under insufficient voltage.
Please email us at support@herosup.ca if all the above fails to resolve the issue.
How long does it take for the Shark II Pump to inflate my paddle board?
Depending on the size of your SUP it can take between 8-10 minutes to inflate a paddle board.
How does the Pump display the air pressure, in PSI or BAR?
The Shark Air Pump can display the air pressure in either PSI or BAR. Press the PSI/BAR button beneath the screen to change the measurement.
The pump makes a loud noise when it's inflating, is this normal?
Yes this is expected as the Shark II pump has two powerful motors inside.
What does the U-L/U-LO error code mean and how to resolve it?
The U-L error code represents that the Pump is working under insufficient voltage. To resolve this issue, please try to connect the Pump to another power source or double check the car battery unit.
What does the U-H error code mean and how to resolve it?
The LCD screen will display a warning when the voltage exceeds 15V. When the voltage drops back to 14.5V, the device will automatically exit voltage protection mode. To resolve this issue, please ensure that your power supply voltage is within the recommended range. Using a regulated power supply can help prevent voltage from exceeding the device's maximum threshold.
What does the H OT(7) error code mean and how to resolve it?
The pump shuts down automatically at 85°C to prevent overheating and restarts once the temperature falls below 60°C. To resolve this issue, ensure proper cooling by enhancing airflow around the pump or adding cooling systems. Implementing these measures will help maintain the pump' s temperature within the safe operating range.
What does the E2 error code mean and how to resolve it?
The pump shuts down at 100°C to prevent overheating. To resolve this issue:
Improve Cooling:Enhance cooling by increasing airflow around the pump or adding cooling systems.
Ensure Ventilation:Make sure the pump is in a well-ventilated area and not obstructed.
Avoid Overheating:Check that the pump is not exposed to excessive heat or direct sunlight.
What does the E3 error code mean and how to resolve it?
If the pressure fails to rise and the device enters protection mode, follow these steps:
Check for Air Leaks: Inspect the system for any air leaks, which can prevent pressure from building up.
Inspect Connections: Ensure all hoses and connections are secure and properly fitted.
Verify Settings: Confirm that the device settings are correctly configured for pressure operation.
Examine Components: Check for any blockages or issues with the pressure components.
What does the PPPP error code mean and how to resolve it?
When the pressure protection activates and the LCD screen displays "PPPP" and flickers, follow these steps:
Check for Air Leaks:Inspect the system for any air leaks that could affect pressure.
Secure Connections:Ensure all hoses and connections are tight and properly fitted.
Reset Device:Press any key to exit the current state and reset the device.
